Having problems loading Gmail? In other words, you try to sign in to your Gmail account but the page keeps loading and reloading without going anywhere? We have your solution.
One of the first things you'll want to do is verify the current reputation of your email address. You can do this with Email Finder. It will let you search worldwide to verify the validity and reputation of your Gmail address. It does a worldwide search of online databases and directories to see where your email address is being used. You can track spammers and fraudulent use of your email address this way.
Once you've done a thorough check on your Gmail account, you'll want to make sure your browser is not the problem causing Gmail to not load. First off, in case you're using Internet Explorer or another non-Mozilla browser and this isn't the first issue you've experienced, we recommend you check out the Firefox web browser. It's rapidly gaining market share and is being touted as one of the fastest and most secure browsers on the market. Not only that, but it's easy to use, should load your Gmail account without issues, and there's a host of free plugins available to enhance your browsing experience.
Typically this is due to firewall privacy settings. Here are a couple fixes, post below if these don't work for you and I'll provide alternate suggestions.
If you're still not successfully connecting to gmail try diagnosing the problem and adjusting firewall settings accordingly. As an example, in Zone Alarm you can enable the "Privacy Advisor":
Reload gmail and see what kind of notices pop up in Privacy Advisor dialogue (bottom right of your screen). It may say "cookies blocked," or "private headers blocked," or something similar. Depending on what it says, go to the "Site List" in ZA, click "Add," and enter "www.gmail.com." Browse to find the new entry (www.gmail.com), click on it (to select it), then click "Options" right below the Add button. Uncheck all boxes and try reloading gmail.
One of our users found another solution that appears to work: adding https://www.google.com to your browser's list of trusted Internet sites. See their comment below for details.
Make sure you have cookies enabled for gmail.com, and try clearing your web browser's cache. See our article on how to clear the cache in various browsers and why. If that doesn't work, browse to google.com, and in the top right corner sign out the user (if they're signed in). Then sign in yourself, and click on the "gmail" link at top left. If that doesn't work, we suggest you download and try a new browser (our recommended browser is Opera).
If you're still having issues please post below.

G mail not loading in Chrome
On my computer, using Google's Chrome web browser, Gmail would not load, so I checked the date and time and corrected them. Now it's working!
My problem is I can't login
My problem is I can't login in any mail account: Gmail, Yahoo, MSN Live, etc. with Firefox or IE. I get a "page loading" error. Please help.
My gmail loop and not load was Java related
Fixed my issue for Gmail not loading (was just looping and would never open). Removing ad block still did not help me. But I went to my control panel, ad/remove programs, and removed all Java entries. Then removed them from c:\program files\Java. Then opened Firefox, went to add-ons and then plugins and removed every entry fro Java. I rebooted, and perfect! Gmail opens now without that endless looping and never loading.
Printing email articles
I have, all of a sudden, had my email (that I print off of) print so small that you need a magnifying glass to read it. How can I set my fonts to at least 10 or 12 size?
Printer properties
If you can't adjust the font size via the email, you should be able to do so within your printer properties. Some printers allow you to zoom the content to fit the page - in which case you'd get it larger, maybe too large. Let us know how it goes and if you need more help.
Unable to load gmail in firefox 3.6.3
I couldn't open Gmail in Firefox 3.6.3 since the last two days. I referred quite a lot of forum sites to get resolved from this issue. I tried many things to get rid of this. I even uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled a fresh copy of it after got fed up by doing all the things mentioned in sites.
Finally I referred this site and got a solution. I changed my system calendar's year to current one (I really don't know how it got changed as I use licensed Kapersky antivirus software and even doing regular updates).
Voila... It got changed... It works fine...
Thanx... Thanx a lot to you guys...
My browsers do not load google.com and gmail.com
My browers (IE, Mozilla Firefox, Opera) do not load and open google.com and gmail.com. The error report processing is done but they are not loading. If I click the Google search engine I get the error:
404 NOT FOUND
Not Found
The requested URL /search was not found on this server. Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) Server at www.google.com Port 80
BUT if I open google.co.in it's opening but only google.com and gmail.com. This is a problem, please help me to find the solution.
Interesting
You're not in China by chance? If you were, I might think that your problem is related to the feud between Google and the Chinese government. The article Baidu vs. Google has updated information on the topic.
Same here
I keep getting that same message. I think I'm supposed to maybe set my computer to factory settings? I don't have Norton.
Got it to work in IE 8
I started having an issue 2/3/2010 and nothing had changed on my PC. No updates, no IE changes, no firewalls and no software was installed. After reading through numerous unhelpful suggestions to upgrade to a different browsers, it took me a week to figure out how to fix it on my PC. From my findings, I would suggest that Gmail had changed its "requirements" and I had to adjust IE8 to suit those requirements.
After re-setting all settings in IE (Advanced tab - Be warned all settings bar secondary homepages & favorites and some security settings are lost) AND after running the IEREREG Version 1.07 which worked in the past when IE misbehaved on Windows 7, it still did not work. I even performed an update which included 21 important updates, only one of which pertained to IE.
This still didn't fix the issue but it may have contributed to the overall fix! While it was mis-behaving, I was still able to get to Gmail via the gadgets you can use on iGoogle with the usual limitations (not emptying Trash can being the most annoying)
My fix was to add https://www.google.com to my trusted sites!
I already had https://mail.google.com added from last time it misbehaved (and the browser re-set didn't remove this) so when I added https://www.google.com it worked.
So in summary, it appears I either need to have https://*.google.com as a trusted domain or I have to add the two hosts as secure hosts / trusted sites.
My view is that the way that Gmail behaves changed which required a second host to be added to the list of trusted sites. It is disappointing that the finger is being pointed at IE straight away and the never ending suggestions to move to other browsers when the issue is caused by changes to the behavior of the application or insufficient testing.
Multiple Gmail Problem
I have 5 separate Gmail addresses 4 of which work just fine on 2 separate computers each using IE 8. However, the 5th Gmail address just hangs in the "Loading" loop on both of these computers plus it hangs similarly on another outside computer. So the problem seems to follow the Gmail address rather than the computer. Any thoughts as to why and/or possible solutions?
Multiple Gmail Problem: Follow up
I finally managed to locate an older XP based laptop running IE8 which allowed me to get into the "locked" Gmail account. Once in I went into "Settings" and found that the account had never been set to either http or https. After choosing the https, all of the other computers are now capable of using the account. Seems like it was "dumb luck" but it certainly has relieved a lot of serious frustration among at least 12 other people. I really appreciate the forum's availability and helpful suggestions posted. Thanks to all contributors.
Thank you
Wow, excellent, detailed description of your solution. Thanks so much for taking the time to write and share this with our readers! We're going to add this to our main article. I'm sure it will save many of us many valuable hours.
Gmail keeps saying cookies not enabled
Hi there,
I have cleared the cache, overridden cookie handling to allow everything, deleted temp internet files, closed all other applications, uninstalled my Vet anti-virus, turned off Windows fire wall and restarted my computer at least 5 times.
It still keeps saying cookies are not enabled... help!!!
Standard view started working after I reset the FF preferences
I had the Firefox/Gmail standard view problem and fixed it by resetting the user preferences in Firefox in safe-mode.
Disable Firefox add-ons
I had the same problem. Just get rid of the add-ons in Firefox. Just go to Tools->Add-ons and disable/uninstall all the ones you don't use.
Gmail not loading in home network
Hi I have the same issue. I use my laptop at my work and home both. At my work place all sites including gmail, yahoo and msn messenger works in fine on my laptop. But when I connect to the wireless network of my home I cannot login to gmail or yahoo or even msn messenger.
It's not the problem with my home network settings either, because all the other systems in my home network can sign in to my gmail, yahoo and msn accounts. Only my laptop cannot log in to gmail from my home network!! need help on this badly!! I have tried both google chrome as well as Internet explorer! I have windows xp sp3.
Gmail not loading
Using both FireFox and IE 8.0. They will not load either mail.google.com nor www.gmail.com. Both of these sites are ALLOWED in Privacy->Sites.
Signing Up
I'm already a Gmail user. I emailed an email address to see if it was available. It instantly bounced back and so when I went to create it, it didn't work. HOW DO I FIX THIS?! I NEED THAT EMAIL ADDRESS, BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE GETS IT!! -Please email finemessrecords at gmail dot com if you have the answer.
my gmail page is not loading
I have uses Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. My Gmail page loads the page display but does not open.
My gmail page is not loading
I'm using Firefox. and when i connect to the gmail. The logging page of gmail is not loading. I clear my all cookies but same problem. It says "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.google.com"
compose mail will only load in older version now
On my home PC only, my gmail will only completely load 'compose mail' on the old version of gmail. On the new version, it begins to load and allows me to choose the recipient and type in the subject line, but it will not send any of the body that I type in. Any suggestions?
Gmail Won't Load
Go to Tools, Privacy, and then show cookies. Choose "remove all cookies." This always works for me. You may have to do this once every couple of weeks. It only takes a couple of seconds.
Gmail - username taken
Our old computer crashed due to being infected with thousands of viruses so we purchased a new one. Now we are trying to get into our gmail account and it will not let us. It also won't let us set up new account because it says someone already has that user name.
Restoring access to Gmail account
On the main gmail.com page, below the login box at the right, select "I cannot access my account." You'll be provided with various options for restoring account access. For example, if you specified an alternate email address when you first signed up you should be able to retrieve your password, which will enable you to login again.
Also can't load Gmail anymore
I have tried all of the fixes above and nothing seems to help. Gmail will not load. Please can anyone suggest other things I might try or what might be causing this problem?
Gmail only works in HTML mode
I had the same problems as above. My solution was to go to Google Labs (I had enabled some new features a few weeks ago). Under settings there is in an escape hatch (near the top of the page) that points you to this url: https://mail.google.com/mail/?labs=0. (This will turn off all lab features). Worked for me. Now I just need to work out how to turn some of the lab features back on without disabling the standard view.
C
this worked for me, thanks
this worked for me, thanks
Thank you, thank you and
Thank you, thank you and once again thank you.
After reading post after post, with no result, your suggestion worked!
I am using Firefox 3.5Beta4 on Windows 7 RC and I can finally get into my account again!
Nothing works for me either... can't load Gmail anymore
My problem got worse gradually. First it occasionally happened that I could view my mail only in html. Now the page will not load anymore. None of the fixes work for me. I've cleared cache, checked cookies, turned off firewalls... nothing works. I cannot load Gmail. It's maddening!! What can I do?? Anyone?
None of those fixes works. Can't load GMAIL.
Hi! None of the above fixes seem to work for me. After I login I get the message copied below.
It says that the page is not available (it's in Italian since my system is in that language).
Interestingly enough, I get the same error for all Google groups as well as for all help pages.
This happens with both Chrome and IE 8. It only happens with one PC, so it's not a router problem, I think.
I have Panda Antivirus active, but cannot find anything blocking this site.
Any suggestions? This is really frustrating!
Thanks

Gmail and Firefox are best!
I don't know what are you talking about, but Gmail and Firefox are the best email software and browser in the field. I never had problems with them and I hope I will never have.

Hotmail and Gmail are not loading after McAfee installed
I am running Windows XP SP2. After installing McAfee both hotmail and Gmail is in loading loop. I tried using Firefox and IE, both do not work. It works when I start my machine in "SafeMode with Networking". It also works when I login to my computer using a guest account in "Normal Mode".
I have try clearing cache but still no luck. I am able to access other no authenticated site.
Neither Gmail nor Hotmail will load
After typing in my name/password neither Gmail nor Hotmail will load in Explorer. The screen is stuck on loading or says "JavaScript is needed." I would love some recommended steps to correct this annoying problem.
clear your cache
using firefox, trying to open gmail -- it kept loading and re-loading, without actually going anywhere. i cleared my browser cache as recommended above, and it worked! no issues now.
gmail will not load in FireFox
Sorry but you are wrong about FireFox. I am using version 2.0.0.14 and gmail will not load in it. Gmail works fine in MS Internet Explorer. I have cleared cookies, cleared cache and everything else, and tried to reload. I do not use any of the firewalls you mentioned. I am on a company network and the company does not block gmail. Others are using it here as well.
Personally I think it is something FireFox is doing wrong.
I've tried it ALL
EVERY blame thing suggested above I have tried and tried and tried. I have NO problem with gmail or yahoo mail on any other PC I use. Only have this problem with my PC at work and I really need to access my email accounts from work at times. I'm so frustrated!!! Can someone help me PLEASE?
Same Problem
I have this exact same problem. It only happens at work and not all of the time. I've talked with our IT people and they say there isn't anything with them. I can connect to gmail at other places with the same laptop. Help!!!!
Work blocking access
It's possible that your work environment is blocking access to gmail. If that's the case there's not much you can do - I suggest you contact your IT support to see what their policy is.
To open gmail
Make sure your date and time are accurate. This was the problem for me. My date was off a month or so... You may also want to clear your cookies and file by going to "Tools" then "Internet Options" at the top of your browser:)
IT WORKED!
Unbelievable!!!
My date was wrong.
November instead of July.
I corrected that and the crazy problem was solved.
Who would have thought?
I tried EVERYTHING and nothing helped except for changing the date!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Unable to open Gmail & Docs!
What a great forum! I too found my date was set wrong on one laptop! Changed back to current date, all is well!! Unbelievable, but thanx for your posting! Happy 2010
Gmail will not load
Thank you very much.
I added gmail.com and google.com to my list of sites where cookies are always allowed. Then I deleted my temporary internet files (cache). And now I can read my gmail again!
Thanks again.
Gmail keeps reloading
Gmail keeps reloading but if I click on Use Older Version, that stops. They're doing something wierd with the latest version. I had other problems with it, also.

Try https:mail.google.com
try https instead of http. It will work!
Thanks so much!
Thanks for the heads up on that one, it really does work!
Gmail will not load in Firefox
It didn't work for me anyway
Have tried everything, clearing cache etc. Works fine in IE it's only Firefox that's a problem ?????
Clear Your Cache
Try clearing your Firefox cache (Tools -> Private Data -> Check "Cache" and hit "Clear Private Data Now") and then restarting Firefox. Also make sure cookies are enabled for gmail.com.
Gmail wont load in either FireFox or IE
Hi,
I have been using gmail for years and the last week I have been unable to load gmail on either FireFox or Gmail. The screen just continuely tries to reload. I tried the secure site and got the "Problem loading Page" response.
Any idea what has happened?? Very sad with out my gmail
Try the secure site
I have also been having this problem, but through their help site, got the advice to try logging in using https://mail.google.com rather than the usual http. This worked for me (Thank God!); I hope it works for you, too.
https works!
My gmail had been working, then suddenly today, it would just say "redirecting" and not go anywhere on the loading page. I'd tried everything, and then I read the link you provided and it worked. THANK YOU!
It worked for me, too.
It worked for me, too. Thanks!!!! I have been trying to do some work from home since hours ago.
that worked!
Thanks man! That "https" worked.
Bene using Gmail since it started, but since a few weeks I could only use the Basic HTML version, and since a few days, I got stuck on a loading screen.
But, that HTTPS did it, it works again:)
Gmail stuck on loading
We just received this inquiry via email and thought the solution might help others:
"All of a sudden when I go to gmail it stays stuck on loading and will lock the page up, all else on my computer works fine, Please help, I have shut off all fire walls, and still the same"
This is a common problem experienced with softwares on your computer conflicting with gmail. We recommend you use Google's troubleshooter below to diagnose the issue:

Gmail will not display
Hi,
I'm using Gmail from my work computer for over a year and half and never had any problems at all. Since yesterday I get the login screen - It let me type my ID & password - hit signin and nothing happens. Blank white screen. I tried clearing out the cookies & temp files nothing seems to help.
Interestingly It works from other computer in the same work network with the same firewall settings. That pretty much explains the problem is with my computer... What else I could try?
Any suggestions?
recently
this happened recently but it was due to the fact that gmail had some bug where people where getting their address books stolen.
spammers wetdream!
Gmail will not display email
I have used Gmail for over a year and never had any problems at all. Three days ago I tried signing into Gmail and I could not get into my email. It will pull up my account but will not show any of the emails. It says I have 50 emails but I cannot access them nor will they display. I have cleaned out the cookies and the browser but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?
Very strange - what browser
Very strange - what browser are you using? Did you try clearing the cache? It could also be a temporary problem with Google's servers. If you're still having the problem in a couple days please post back with more details.
gmail email will not display
i have avast antivirus suite.
gmail will open, i can click on an email, but it hangs and doesn't display.
i've tried both firefox and IE and both have the same issues.
Did you try accessing Gmail
Did you try accessing Gmail in both standard and HTML modes? You can switch them by clicking on the links in the footer:
Gmail view: standard | basic HTMLTry diagnosing the problem
Try diagnosing the problem with the new "Privacy Advisor" section I posted above.
If this still doesn't work post back here with specifics to your situation - ie. what browser are you using, what else have you tried, etc.
Good luck!

My Gmail Will Not Load
I have tried the zone alarm fixes but had no luck can you help?
Found a solution
I was having the same problem with my Gmail loading. The only way I could get it to work was to open FF in Safe Mode.
I followed the steps in this link and it took up to step #3 for things to finally correct.
Good Luck
