Your outgoing mail server is used to send emails from your computer. Depending on where your email account is hosted, you may or may not be able to use your email provider's outgoing mail server. Email addresses based on public email services such as Hotmail, Google, Yahoo, etc. will use their own outgoing mail servers. If your email is hosted on your own website, you may want to use your hosting provider's mail server. For example, websites hosted on example.com may use mail.example.com as both their incoming and outgoing mail servers.
Some ISP's (Internet Service Providers) will not allow you to make use of your own outgoing mail server. In this situation, you'll need to use your ISP's outgoing mail server. Find the name of your ISP and use the chart below to find your outgoing mail server.
If you are intent on using your own site's mail server, you may want to contact your ISP. You can also try outgoing mail (SMTP) port number to 26 (default is 25), as some ISP's will block port 25 because it is often used for spamming.

Starcomms outgoing smtp port
Hi Emmanuel,
I searched for the outgoing port but was unable to find it. You may want to check their website (which when I just visited generated a bunch of errors and looked rather cheap - are these guys legit?)

I just moved to a new place, and my roommate has an AT&T box for Internet, but I can't set up my Outlook. My French email account is Laposte.net.
help getting mail with cox.net
Hi, I have never been able to get my iPhone to receive mail and send mail. I am using cwmx.com for outgoing and pop.east.cox.net for incoming. Is this correct? I'm literally going crazy. My husband's phone settings are the same as mine and his works?? Please let me know, I'm losing my mind!!
Cox.net mail servers
Hi there,
From what we can tell, if you're on the east coast, use pop.east.cox.net for incoming (receiving) mail, and pop.west.cox.net if you're on the west coast. For outgoing (sending) mail, use either smtp.east.cox.net or smtp.west.cox.net.
Let us know how it goes!
